Description
BURNING SKIES OF ELYSIUM’s drummer Graham Mitchell sadly passed away in April 1988. His brother Chris and their closest friend Matt Venn returned to The Slaughterhouse in December and recorded three songs with the help of a drum machine; ‘One Afternoon’, ‘It’s All Over’ and ‘Dutch Villa’. Only the latter was released on the rare various artists cassette-only sampler ‘You Can’t Be Loved Forever No. 2’ back in the day. We also included it on our long deleted Distant Waves compilation in 2014. For us at Dead Wax Records these three songs are just splendid, absolutely haunting, amongst the best that BSOE ever did. We think they’re so magical that we had to put them on a proper vinyl release. This is our humble, heartfelt homage to a band that was struck by fatality not just once when Graham died, but again when Matt also lost his life in a car accident in October 2001, five years after BURNING SKIES OF ELYSIUM had morphed into the indie band LOLATWIST. Graham and Matt, may you rest in peace and happiness forever. Your music will always live with us.
With a bittersweet taste in our mouths, we present IT’S ALL OVER as a limited, hand numbered 12” edition split in two vinyl colours; 80 COPIES ON TRANSLUCENT GREEN COPIES AND 120 ON STANDARD BLACK, housed in a matt finish sleeve with a double sided insert and including a download code.
