This is a very special RECORD STORE DAY 2020 edition. It’s a revamped version of our previous DW025 IT’S ALL OVER 12” by BURNING SKIES OF ELYSIUM, now featuring a completely new artwork and retitled ONE AFTERNOON. It’s the same green vinyl record that we already released last March, now coming in a lovingly, 100% hand-crafted, green rough card stock silkscreened sleeve and including a completely new insert with unseen photos and lyrics of the three songs. This RSD 2020 edition is limited to just 25 copies and ONLY ONE COPY PER BUYER WILL BE ALLOWED. Orders for more than one copy of this edition will be cancelled and the paid amount returned less a 1€ return fee.
BURNING SKIES OF ELYSIUM’s drummer Graham Mitchell sadly passed away in April 1988. His brother Chris and their closest friend Matt Venn returned to The Slaughterhouse in December and recorded three songs with the help of a drum machine; ‘One Afternoon’, ‘It’s All Over’ and ‘Dutch Villa’. Only the latter was released on the rare various artists cassette-only sampler ‘You Can’t Be Loved Forever No. 2’ back in the day. We also included it on our long deleted Distant Waves compilation in 2014. For us at Dead Wax Records these three songs are just splendid, absolutely haunting, amongst the best that BSOE ever did. We think they’re so magical that we had to put them on a proper vinyl release. This is our humble, heartfelt homage to a band that was struck by fatality not just once when Graham died, but again when Matt also lost his life in a car accident in October 2001, five years after BURNING SKIES OF ELYSIUM had morphed into the indie band LOLATWIST. Graham and Matt, may you rest in peace and happiness forever. Your music will always live with us.
