Description
Listen carefully. Can you hear them? DISTANT WAVES. The feel, the sound of Dead Wax Records. A collection of songs deep in our hearts, deep in our heads. An assortment that comprises many of our musical tastes. From the thumping, dark minimalism of Palais Des Bauzards and This Eternal Waiting to the deep, melancholic romanticism of The Burning Skies Of Elysium and Leave in Silence. And everything in-between coming from beloved, well known bands or the obscurest acts. Cold wave, goth pop / rock, post punk, synth pop by The Last Cry, Babel 17, Parchment Prayer, Derrière Le Miroir, Silent Creatures, Dusk To Dawn, The Clockwork Orange, Close Cover, Teepee, Silently Down.
Darkness, light, love, sadness, raw energy and feelings. There’s something for every soul here, for every moment. An incredible array of instant classics, mostly unreleased and extremely rare songs from a golden musical period. Only two of them were available on vinyl before, however, impossible to find in their original pressings.
This is our very special ‘hors d’oeuvre’ for you, an example of what we love at Dead Wax Records. What we listen to, what we want to share with you. Hope you like the experience.
Distant Waves is limited to 220 hand numbered vinyl copies, 100 of which include THE ADDENDUM, a bonus 7” with 3 additional tracks. Extremely rare demo quality songs rescued from rather poor cassette sources, with a logical inferior sound quality but incredible strength and musical value. They couldn’t be included in the main album due to time restriction, but we like them too much so we just wouldn’t leave them out even despite the slightly worse sound quality. We decided to put them on a complementary 7”. The utmost care, knowledge and technical means have been put into the remastering of all the songs to squeeze the best out of each one. Well worth the efforts! DISTANT WAVES is presented in a heavy matt finish sleeve with printed inner sleeve. THE ADDENDUM 7” comes in its own folded insert-sleeve.
